For a house to be 100% ready to receive guests on a short term basis, it must have a series of fundamental tools. Based on our experience in managing short term rentals, we have created a list of objects that guests’ value most during their stays.

Not all of them are mandatory, but the more you can gather, the more valued your home can be. Something as simple as a corkscrew can make all the difference…

Essential tools:

We suggest that you always have toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, shampoo and shower gel or soap available, at least in enough quantity for the first day of your guests’ stay. They appreciate the availability of these amenities.

What objects you should not leave in a house for short term rentals

We advise you to remove all the most important, valuable and personal objects and belongings, such as pieces of art or family pictures, for example. If possible, make an inventory of everything in the house – this way it will be easier to control what is missing, broken or is extra as guests can forget belongings.

As you can see, the preparation of a house for short term rentals starts long before you hand over the key to your future guests, to ensure not only that they have the best possible experience, but also that they recommend your house to their friends.

At Feels Like Home, in addition to a complete inventory, we see what can complement your house, make a shopping list and, if the owner agrees, we purchase the items without any additional costs other than the value of the items. Get to know all our services and find out how much your house can be worth in the short term rentals market using the simulator on our website.
